The “Woke” Crowd: The Judgiest Judges That Ever Did Judge

Travel with me, if you will, back in the near distant past to that time when no one was allowed to judge. Do you remember those not-so-distant times? Boy, I do. Ah, those were the days, weren’t they? When if you tried to point out a bad action, immediately you were shamed into silence with a quoting of Scripture: “Judge not or you shall be judged!”

For years, the secular crowd tirelessly worked to squelch all judgment of any kind in an effort to ram questionable behaviors down our throats. “Stop using your religion against me!” Even with little understanding of Scripture, and having no qualms about cherry-picking verses, the non-religious crowd felt they had the right to lecture the traditional, more conservative religious crowd about the “horrible, horrible practice of judging.” And never mind the irony of a group of people judging other people for judging. I know, it gets confusing.

And yet…

Here we are in 2020 and the “woke” crowd seems, I dare say, to be laying–HEAPING–on the judgment.

Now, before I really get into this blog, let’s flesh-out three big truths.

  1. We all judge, all the time and to say you don’t is nonsense. As humans, we make judgment calls about people non-stop. We have to in order to function in the world and if we lived in a world where no bad action could be judged wrongly, well….welcome to chaos. Though, I’m not so sure we aren’t already there.
  2. We are allowed to judge actions, as long as we don’t forget to accept criticism ourselves and self-reflect on our behaviors. “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.” Galatians 6:1. The Bible does not say, “Never judge any action.” It does warn, many times over, not to judge wrongly, but instead to “judge with right judgment.โ€ John 7:24. Scripture, also, warns the judger to realize that with “the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1. It is stressed that you should “first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:5. Basically, God warns us to judge actions and behaviors prudently, mercifully, and humbly. In other words, pay a lot of attention to your own actions rather than obsessing about another’s and be darn sure you aren’t engaging in the thing you say is wrong.
  3. What we aren’t allowed to do is judge another’s soul or condemn it to Hell. The judgment of souls is not our realm, that is God’s alone. Not a one of us is privy to all the interior motivations or thoughts of another human being. God, however, is privy to everything and gets to make the final judgment call on where a person spends eternity. We, also, have to be very careful in claiming to know the true motives behind a behavior. Many times, we don’t have all the information about a certain situation and, therefore, we don’t always know with certainty the motivations of another individual.

Now, most rational people realize that we have to judge certain behaviors as bad and certain behaviors as good. It is ridiculous to tell people that they are never allowed to judge. The old “live and let live” motto sounds nice on the surface, but people don’t really mean it when you get down to the brass tacks of things. Are you willing to just let a convicted rapist go because we should just “live and let live”? No, I bet not. Are you willing to stand by and let a bully mentally torture someone because “who am I to judge”? I sure hope not.

The interesting thing is, is that for years now, we’ve been told by the Progressive Left that nobody is allowed to judge another. This is usually brought up when talking about sexual behaviors, but I’ve seen the “Don’t Judge!” slogan thrown around for lots of things. And what has happened is that many of us with a moral standard have shrunk back into the shadows afraid to be labeled a “phobe” of some kind. We lost the moral high ground in our silence. The radical Leftist agenda steam-rolled down the tracks and we, the silent majority, just sat by at the station with gaping eyes and mouths hung open in shock as it zoomed past us.

But, all the tables turned very recently. It appears that the “Don’t Judge!” crowd is suddenly very fond, very fond indeed, of judging. Their judgment of things knows no bounds. The “woke” crowd is able to judge motives, souls, and any and all actions even if they happened forever ago. There they sit on their Thrones of Judginess parading every American in front of them as their interior thoughts and motives are apparently revealed to the all-seeing eyes of the “woke” judges.

Now, historically, much of the world has based a lot of their judgment of bad behavior off of the Ten Commandments. Not that long ago it was common for us to recognize the Ten Commandments as good to follow, though many times falling short because sin is tempting. In recent years, though, we’ve been told to “shut up” with our religious judgment of behaviors that fall under the Ten Commandments.

Truth be told, though, the “judges of wokeness” have established their own Ten Commandments and they are:

1. There is no God. Science is all that matters, unless, of course, it goes against how you feel. Above all, worship self. It is, also, fine to destroy houses of God and anything that belongs to them.

2. Pretend to try not to offend people with your words, except it is fine to use Christ’s name in vain. Who cares if it offends the Christians.

3. Do whatever you want on Sundays. Religious services are patriarchy nonsense full of misogynistic practices and one must fight against the system.

4. You don’t owe your parents anything, especially if they belong to a different political party than you. If they do, cancel them from your life forever.

5. The killing of babies is not only fine but should be celebrated. Get a hashtag “Shout your abortion” campaign going.

6. There is no such thing as sexual sin if consent is given.

7. Stealing is fine as long as you claim to be mad about a certain injustice that the media agrees with. Destruction of public or private property is utterly fine, too, so long as you, the “woke” person, finds it offensive.

8. Lying should be practiced as a means to an end, especially in journalism. Smearing people’s names is fine if you don’t like them.

9. Go after whoever you want if you desire them. Monogamy is stupid anyway.

10. It is perfectly fine to take the fruits of another’s labors and distribute them around. You have a right to other people’s things.

What we are seeing now, is that if you won’t or don’t agree with the Kings and Queens of Wokeness on these matters, they will judge you as a racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, religious zealot and they will cancel you. They will demand that you comply or be dragged into the public arena to be fed to the frenzied mob waiting to devour you. There is no room for discussion, no thoughtful debate is allowed, no questions are to be asked. If you aren’t “woke” or “woke” enough, you are judged immediately and discarded.

We have given these people far more power then they should ever have attained. I’ll give them credit, though, they played the game well: Shame people if they judge a behavior as bad, especially one you want to engage in, silence them, and then move in and turn the tables to judge their every inner motive, thought, or action. Slick. That’s some slick, dirty work there. One would almost think it was from the devil himself. It really makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

So, what do we do? Stop worrying about what the “woke” crowd thinks. You never give in to a two-year-old who is having a tantrum and the “woke” crowd is just like a two-year-old having a tantrum. You outlast them with firmness and courage.

If someone is really trying to offer constructive criticism, hear them out. If they are looking to embarrass, publicly shame, and destroy your life for perceived slights, you owe them nothing. We need to stop apologizing for every little thing that offends the PC mob. The way they are acting is not helpful to our country; it is extremely divisive and harmful. The way they are acting does not truly seek the betterment of those they seek to destroy. How could it? When you are seeking to destroy people and their lives, you are not interested in bettering humanity.

As Catholics, we should always be working to improve ourselves to become better people for God, our families and friends, our communities, and for ourselves. It is important to let those that truly have our best interests at heart judge our actions because sometimes they can see where changes need to be made. You can be sure, though, that the “woke” Cancel Culture in our society does not truly have anybody’s best interests at heart except their own.

Be bold, courageous and just, Catholic Pilgrims. If we must pass judgment on actions, let us show the right way to do it.

  1. I am a religious G-d fearing (at least I try to be) Jew.
This article is extremely well thought out and extremely well written.
Every point about the woke leftists, is spot on.
The ten commandments of the woke liberals are also totally accurate.
This leftist wokeness is all from the Radical Athiest Religion.
Here is a back and forth I had with someone on a blog about this:
    “Atheism is not a religion.

    It is the lack thereof.”

    I didn’t say athiesm was a religion.

I said the radical athiest cult, is a religion.

If someone minds their own business and simply does not believe in G-d, then they are just an athiest.

But when they feel they have to be a crusader for athiesm and an activist trying to vilify those who believe in G-d, and/or voting for and/or runninh for political office specifically on the basis of getting more power to pass laws that reflect and/or enforce their beliefs on others, then they are actively doing something, not sitting around “lacking” something.

They are actively trying to destroy those who dare to blaspheme their Radical Athiest Religion, by having the audacity to dare to believe in G-d.

The radical athiest religion, can’t tolerate such blasphemy.

‘You were born atheist until someone lied to you.”

“Nope, I wasnโ€™t born athiest, and itโ€™s the radical athiest, antisemitic, anti male feminist, animal worshipping, violent cultists, that lied to me.”

    “Which animal worshipper is violent?โ€

The vast majority, if not all of them.

The ones that tried to firebomb the house of a guy who had gone to africa to hunt lions, for example.

And the ones that daw a video on youtube of a5 year old girl who had her feet against the bacl of a dog at least as large as she was, and for which thry demanded she be killed for โ€œabusing the dogโ€.

    And many other examples

โ€œMost of the violent guys are the religious fanatics, especially the guys belonging to the abrahamic cultsโ€

Not true of sincerely G-d fearing people like the Chassidic Jews, in my community.

The most fanatical of religious fanatics are the followers of the Radical Athiest religion, like those that send death threats to those that argue against and debunk their fanatical claims.

    • Your assessment is quite right. Atheism and the radical “evangelizing” of it has become a religion. I don’t know any atheists that merely sit back and just lack a belief in God. They actively try to “convert” people to their side and will, as I know well, try to destroy you if you don’t follow along.
