When my husband and I were dating neither one of us gave a thought about our Faith life. I was the mad Protestant who had turned her back on God and Dustin was a cradle Catholic that lived right across the street from the Catholic Church on campus, but never went.
The day our oldest was born, my husband said that when he held her in his arms, he knew that he needed to be better for her.
Heโll tell you that he started looking around at men in his life that seemed to shine and thrive. He found two: His grandfather and my pastor from the church I grew up in.
He looked at their lives and thought, โWhat is it about them that makes them seem content, joyful, andโฆevenโฆholy? I want that.โ
My husband realized pretty quickly that they were deeply connected to the True Vine and because they were so connected, they bore much fruit.
This started my husband and I on a journey back to our Faith and ultimately led me into the Catholic Church.
You will wither without Christ, Catholic Pilgrims. Remain connected to the True Vine at all costs. When you do, others will see the difference in you and want what you have, and what you have is Christ.
Have a blessed Fifth Sunday of Easter.
