Daily Reflection: 14 December 2023

Last night, my family was watching some “man on the street” episodes from PragerU.

Before I begin, yes, I know “man on the street” things don’t show it all. I know they select out ones that cause controversy. I know there are people who give good answers that are edited out. I know.

Anyway, the question was asked, “Do men need women and do women need men?”

Most of the people asked were guy/girl couples.

Nearly all the women said that they don’t need men. A few of the men said that men do need women, but one guy said, “Just love yourself.”

One girl even said that women don’t need men because men are “useless.”

Some of the women said that men need women, but women definitely don’t need men. You could tell that they were uncomfortable with the thought of saying men don’t need women.

It’s so sad and pathetic to me that we can’t appreciate both sexes and realize that, yes, we do need each other. It especially angers me that women are so disregarding of men and take for granted everything that men do, making us look selfish and ungrateful.

I propose an idea to all who think we don’t need men. Strip down your life and remove all the things that men are most involved in. To start with, you’d have to remove your life because without your father you wouldn’t exist.

Women need men.

I need my father. Without him, I wouldn’t be here.

I need my husband to be my companion and help me grow and raise a family.

I need priests who can give me the Sacraments.

I need the men who build roads, buildings, work at power plants, and pick up our trash.

Could women do some of these things? Some of them, but not all of them. And I’m grateful that men are wired to do the things we women just really don’t want to do or are physically unable to do.

What a boring world it would be if men weren’t here. What a boring world it would be if women weren’t here. God made men and women which is a good indicator we need each other and not just for romance.

A little appreciation goes a long way. No person is an island and if one or the other sex were gone, we’d find out real quick how much we need each other.
