Our Blessings Are Meant To Bless Others

“You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produced thanksgiving to God” 2 Corinthians 11:22

In this life, there will be those that are blessed with much and those that will have little.  We must never make the mistake of thinking that because we have been given much in the way of wealth, love, or material things that we are in some way more loved by God.  We must realize that any richness we have is always meant to be shared with those that need.  God desires for you to be an instrument to deliver His love to others. We should always take the gifts that He has entrusted to us and find ways to use them for His greater good.

I’m not always the best at this, in fact, I struggle with it.  I never want to get caught in the trap of thinking that because I have much that I’m more loved by God or that I’m doing it all right.  Our earthly blessings can become our objects of worship (such as money, notoriety, and material things), which can take us farther from God.  That’s why it’s so important to thank God for those blessings and turn right around and use them to bless others.  That way, we don’t fall into the trap of growing too attached to earthly things and letting those things take the place of God.

“Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”  Luke 12:48

This Thanksgiving, let us take stock of our lives and find the many things to be thankful for: Friends, family, a home, money, food on the table, a warm house, a job, transportation, people who love us, health, and the gift of our lives.  If we are abundant in any of these things, I pray that we reach out to those that need us to care for them and serve them with our love.  Jesus said “the poor you will always have” and I believe it is because it makes us all better people when we help each other.  We grow more like Christ when we take our blessings and bless others with it.

May you all have a beautiful, happy Thanksgiving.
